Zachary was born May 27th 1989 in Walnut Creek County, California. At age 4 his family moved to Holley, NY, a small town in western New York just outside of Rochester. He went to school there from elementary through high school taking every art class they offered. In his last year he sectioned off a corner for himself in the only art room the school had.
Zachary went on to obtain a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts in Sculpture from Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY in 2011. There he focused on the foundry process, in particular cast iron. He obtained numerous grants, awards and scholarships while in Buffalo and studied abroad in the summer of 2010 making work in Finland and Latvia. Most notably participating in a land art symposium in Pedvale Open Air Museum in Latvia during their Stone.Color season. Zachary has also shown at such places as the Lexington Art League, in Lexington, KY, Franconia Sculpture Park in Franconia, Minnesota, and the Attleboro Arts Museum in Attleboro, MA.
In 2012 Zachary enrolled in an MFA program at University of the
Arts in Philadelphia, PA with a Merit Scholarship and Provost Award. He current lives and works in Philadelphia.
